Last week, Paradigm submitted a letter to the CFTC urging a comprehensive regulatory framework for perpetual derivatives in the United States. While current discussions mainly center on centralized entities, the real transformative potential lies in decentralized financing protocols (DEFI). DEFI Perps are transparent, composable, and integrated within DEFI primitives. However, they face regulatory hurdles in the US. A proposed Perpetuals Special Advisory Committee (PSAC) could provide recommendations within 90 days on a modern regulatory regime for DEFI Perps.
