It took just over a month for cryptocurrencies to erase almost all of this year’s gains. At its peak, the total market value hit $4.4 trillion, now up only 2.5% for the year. The downturn shook confidence amid liquidations and lack of rebound signs. President Trump’s efforts boosted Bitcoin but sentiment reversed quickly, with digital asset market value now lower than when he took office. Bitcoin’s recent fall puts it on track for the worst weekly performance since March.

Despite the sell-off, some stability signs emerge as Bitcoin and Ether spot ETFs saw inflows after consecutive outflows.
