In a new cyber attack, the British Labor MP and the leader of the House of Commons, Lucy Powell, hacked his X account (formerly Twitter) verified to promote a false Token Solana nicknamed the “Chamber of Commons of the House of Commons” ($ HCC).
The post now deleted from the official Powell account described the HCC as a “digital currency focused on the community bringing people’s power to the blockchain”, accompanied by visuals bearing the official room of municipalities.

Tweets have encouraged nearly 70,000 Powell subscribers to invest in the freshly created token in Solana.
According to the Powell team, his account was quickly guaranteed once the violation was identified.
“Lucy Powell’s Personal Account was hacked this morning. Measures were taken quickly to secure the account and delete misleading messages,” said a spokesperson.
Despite the very publicized nature of the objective, the financial return on the scam was minimal.
The DEX SCREAMIER data revealed that the hoc token was barely affected. He recorded just over 700 transactions and culminated in a market capitalization of around $ 24,000 before crashed at only $ 3,800.
Only 34 trades were linked to real profits, generating around £ 225.
The case of Powell is not isolated. Many political figures attack the cybercriminal, operating their public profiles to validate crypto projects for false.
Last month, former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, made his account compromise for two days.
Square alert: the president’s X account, Ghana, @Jdmahamawas compromised and publishes a cryptographic scam.

The pirates took advantage of the opportunity to promote a scam -based token nicknamed Solanafrica.
In February, President Javier Milei became another victim of a controversial token launch in Argentina.
After tweeting the support of a crypto called Balance, which skyrocketed more than 3,000% in hours, the position was removed and Milei disowned the involvement.

Subsequent investigations have allegedly allegedly manipulated. Companies like Kelers Ventures have been involved in the orchestration of a rigged launch which allowed initiates of more than $ 110 million by controlling access and liquidity in tokens.
Likewise, the member of the Argentine Congress, José Luis Espert, also diverted his X account to launch a so-called “$ Libra V2”, aimed at stimulating the national economy.

His team then blamed the violation of a coordinated attack to destabilize the administration of Milei.
Asia has not been spared either. The account of the former vice-president Leni Robredo was used in the Filipinos to promote another fraud token based in Solana.
The account of the former vice-president Leni Robredo on X was hacked on February 17. "My X account (Twitter) was hacked. Please ignore all messages while I try to take control of the account again," Robredo said on Facebook.

She quickly informed her supporters of not taking into account the deceptive content while working to regain control of her account.
Powell is the last high -level victim among many influential figures targeted by cryptographic crooks.
In the British media, the BBC journalist Nick Robinson also saw his account X pirated earlier this year after clicking on a phishing email.
The post falsely announced that he was launching a cryptocurrency named $ today for the BBC Radio 4 TODAY program.
In fact, in Crypto, the most recent similar was Watcher.guru, who confirmed that his account X had been hacked on March 21, broadcast false information on a partnership between Ripple and Swift which briefly influenced the XRP feeling.
Our X account has been hacked today. We sent a message to an X employee two weeks ago after suspected that an attempt was made to compromise our account.
Here is what we know:
– watcher.guru (@watcherguru) March 21, 2025
The false post was automatically republished on the other platforms of watcher.guru via a bot of content, despite the use by two-factors authentication.
The team suspects that the violation could be linked to a suspect link previously shared in their Télégramme group.
Social engineering remains the most common method for initial violations. Fraudsters often use phishing emails that direct users to clone connection portals or integrate malware to collect identification information.
Once inside an account, the attackers publish flashy graphics and promises of profit, using the stolen credibility of the account owner to attract without distrust buyers.
The CHC scam may have disappeared quickly, but it constitutes another warning to users and institutions to be wary of tokens favored by influence.
